Solgar L-Theanine 150 mg Review
Solgar L-Theanine is a frustrating bottle: it gets the two hardest things right and then stumbles on the easy one. The form is real Suntheanine — the licensed Taiyo patent for the enantiomerically pure L-isomer the trials measured — and the brand is Solgar, a respected legacy name, delivered in a vegan, kosher, non-GMO, gluten-free veg cap. Those are genuine strengths. The problem is the dose: at 150 mg per cap, it sits below the 200 mg the foundational trials anchor on (Nobre 2008, Higashiyama 2011, Owen 2008's 2:1 stack). Solgar's own label addresses this by suggesting two caps (300 mg), which works but doubles the cost per effective dose and burns the bottle in a month. So you're left choosing between under-dosing at one cap or overpaying at two — when NOW Foods sells the same Suntheanine at a clean 200 mg single cap for a third of the per-effective-dose cost. Right form, right brand, awkward dose.
